    Second Day Completed at The FIDE U9–U17 Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships
    Rapid-Day-2 1After second day following matches played in the rapid section, with 3 rounds per day, a total of 6 rounds have been completed at the end of the second day. 
     
    The standings by categories are as follows; 
     
    U9 Category; 
     
    In the open category, CM Luca Protopopescu is in first place with 6 points, followed by Nurmuhammad Nematillakhonov with 5 points in second place, and Marc Barcelo Melnyk with 4.5 points in third place. 
     
    In the girls’ category, WCM Eliza-Ioana Badescu who has 4.5 points is sharing the first place with Elif Defne Özer and Alexandra Aymerich Sazonova. 
     
    U11 Category; 
     
    In the open category, FM Alimzhan Zhauynbay is in first place with 6 points, FM Marc Llari is second with 5 points, and Khasan Akramov is third with 4.5 points. 
     
    In the girls’ category, WFM Alisa Genrietta Yunker is in first place with 6 points, WCM Adiya Mamesh is second with 5 points, and Malika Norkulova is third with 4 points. 
     
    U13 Category; 
     
    In the open category, FM Baver Yılmaz is in first place with 6 points, CM Miroslav Baturin-Vinogradov is second with 5 points, and CM Mehmet Alper Çelebi is third with 5 points. 
     
    In the girls’ category, Alima Omirserik is in first place with 5 points, Mokhinur Xikmatkhonova is second with 4.5 points, and WCM Kristina Zavivaeva is third with 4.5 points. 
     
    U15 Category; 
     
    In the open category, IM Khumoyun Begmuratov is in first place with 5.5 points, Hongfu Dong is second with 5 points, and GM Yağız Kaan Erdoğmuş is third with 4.5 points. 
     
    In the girls’ category, WFM Rukiya Olimova is in first place with 4.5 points, WFM Mariya Kholyavko is second with 4.5 points, and WCM Arya Aydoğan is third with 4.5 points. 
     
    U17 Category; 
     
    In the open category, IM Bakhrom Bakhrillaev is in first place with 5 points, IM Asrorjon Omonov is second with 5 points, and IM Filip Magold is third with 4.5 points. 
     
    In the girls’ category, WIM Binh Vy Nguyen is in first place with 5 points, WCM Madinabonu Khalilova is second with 5 points, and WFM Evgeniia Satanovskaia is third with 4 points at the end of the day.

    FIDE U9–U17 Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships Has Begun with FIDE President's Opening Move!
    fide afis_2025FIDE U9–U17 Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships, organized by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and Turkish Chess Federation has commenced with an opening ceremony in Antalya.
     
    Opening ceremony was attended by FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich, Turkish Chess Federation President Fethi Apaydın, Antalya Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Yavuz Gürhan, TCF Deputy President Bülent Mert Dikeç, TCF Board Members Alper Efe Ataman, Kemal Can Çömez, Betül Büyükaşık, as well as Committee Chairpersons, Federation representatives, arbiters, and players.
     
    FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich highlighted the importance of the championship, which features participants from over 30 countries, and the quality of the organization, stating:
     
    "This championship carries great meaning for us. The reason you are here is to become a world champion. In just 10 days, the world's best chess players will gather in Qatar. I thank the Turkish Chess Federation and everyone who contributed for their successful work and the great support they have given to this valuable organization."
     
    Turkish Federation President Fethi Apaydın expressed his satisfaction that Türkiye is hosting such an important event, stating:
     
    "We are very happy to bring children from all over the world together in Antalya around a universal language like chess. This event, attended by far more countries than expected, has once again demonstrated our federation's organizational capability. I thank our Ministry of Youth and Sports and FIDE, our contributing sponsors, and everyone who put in the effort. Our Federation has reached a position that guides international activities and our relations with FIDE have strengthened significantly. We are preparing to share the good news of a new international organization very soon."
     
    Players competing in 5 different categories between the ages of 9-17 will make their moves for the world championship in two separate disciplines: Rapid and Blitz. A total of 314 players from 33 different countries are competing in the championship. Our dear grandmasters, GM Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus will compete in both the rapid and blitz championships, while GM Ediz Gürel will participate in the blitz championship.
     
    We present our thanks to our Ministry of Youth and Sports and Türkiye İş Bankası, who, as always, did not spare their valuable support in the realization of this important organization, and we wish success to all our players competing in the championship.

Technical Meeting
    Teknik Toplanti 1The Technical Meeting of the FIDE U9–U17 Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships 2025 took place at the Flamingo Meeting Hall of Lara Hotel.
     
    The meeting was attended by the Chief Arbiter of the tournament, IA Amir Erfan; Deputy Chief Arbiters IA Melih Çiçek and IA Ulkar Umudova; Pairings Arbiter IA Tania Karali; Chairman of the Appeals Committee IA Özgür Solakoğlu; as well as tournament arbiters, coaches, and players.
     
    After the technical information regarding the tournament was presented, the drawing of lots and the Appeals Committee was established. In addition, players’ questions regarding the championship were answered and organizational preparations were finalized.
     
    The Rapid Section of the FIDE U9–U17 Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships will begin with the first-round games at 15:00, following the opening ceremony to be held at 14:30.
     
    We wish all players competing in the championship the best of success.
